At TypeKaksha (typekaksha.in), we are committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors and registered users. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using TypeKaksha, you agree to the practices described in this document.
1. Information We Collect
- Typing performance data (WPM, Accuracy, CPM, Key Depressions) stored locally in your browser's localStorage or synced to your TypeKaksha account when you are signed in.
- Account information (email address, display name) if you choose to create a TypeKaksha account for saving progress and certificates.
- Anonymous usage data via Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics — including pages visited, session duration, and device type. No personally identifiable information is shared with third-party analytics.
- Contact form submissions (name, email, message) when you write to us via the Contact page.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To display your typing speed results, accuracy metrics, and progress history.
- To generate printable speed certificates (Premium users).
- To improve our typing practice tools, exam simulators, and lesson content based on aggregate usage patterns.
- To respond to your support inquiries submitted via the Contact form.
3. Cookies & Analytics
- TypeKaksha uses session-level cookies for authentication and theme preference storage.
- We use Google Analytics (anonymized IP) and Vercel Web Analytics to understand platform usage. You can opt out of Google Analytics via browser extensions.
- Google AdSense serves contextual advertisements on free tier pages. AdSense may use cookies for personalized ads based on your browsing history.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We use Supabase (a PostgreSQL-based backend) to securely store account data and certificate records. Supabase is GDPR-compliant.
- Vercel hosts our website infrastructure. Vercel collects standard server access logs per their privacy policy.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Guest session data (WPM scores stored in localStorage) is only stored in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Registered account data is retained until you request account deletion via support@typekaksha.in.
- Contact form messages are retained for up to 90 days for support resolution purposes.
6. Your Rights
- You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data held by TypeKaksha.
- To exercise these rights, contact us at support@typekaksha.in with the subject line "Data Request".
- Indian residents are protected under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA). EU residents are protected under GDPR.
